Who are we? 

KARIBU is legally incorporated as Fauteuils et meubles Karibu inc. In addition to its corporate name, KARIBU operates under the trade name KARIBU®.

Please read this privacy policy carefully, as it governs your privacy rights as a user of KARIBU goods and services (as defined in KARIBU's terms and conditions). The most important provisions of this policy are:

  • You consent to the collection of your Specified Personal Information (defined below) so that KARIBU can provide you with KARIBU Products and Services efficiently and collect the purchase price in effect from time to time for the sale of KARIBU goods and services; 

  • Your access to your account profile containing your Personal Information (defined below) and your ability to make changes to it from time to time to keep it up to date; and  

  • Your right to unsubscribe from KARIBU electronic messages after your KARIBU account is closed.  

KARIBU products and services (the «KARIBU Products and Services») are provided at karibu.cool and are described in these terms and conditions, available at karibu.cool. These terms and conditions, together with our privacy policy available at karibu.cool, apply to your use of our website and of KARIBU goods and services. 

 

Consent to data collection

KARIBU collects certain personal information about you when you register to access KARIBU goods and services and create your account profile, and when your account information is updated or corrected. 

The personal information KARIBU collects from you includes the following:  

  • Your last name;  

  • Your company name, if applicable;  

  • Your address; 

  • Your phone number;  

  • Your email address; 

  • Information about the payment method you select, including credit card information; 

  • The username assigned to your KARIBU account;  

  • The password you choose to protect access to your KARIBU account;  

  • Your profile picture, if you upload one.  

  • The KARIBU products you purchase;  

The information above is referred to as «Personal Information». 

In addition to your Personal Information, KARIBU collects information about your access to KARIBU goods and services, including the following: 

  • Your Internet Protocol (IP) addresses; 

  • The dates and times you access KARIBU goods and services; 

  • Information from cookies, invisible pixels and web beacons generated when you access KARIBU products and services;  

  • Device information, including unique device identifiers and device event information such as crashes, system activity, hardware settings, browser type, browser language and referring URL; 

  •  We may also collect information about your location when you access KARIBU goods and services;  

Your Personal Information together with the information above is referred to in this policy as your «Specified Personal Information». 

By opening your KARIBU account, accessing KARIBU goods and services, accepting the terms and conditions and purchasing KARIBU products or services, you expressly consent to the following uses of your Specified Personal Information:  

  • Creating your KARIBU account profile; 

  • Granting access to KARIBU goods and services; 

  • Completing and delivering orders for the purchase of KARIBU products;  

  • Processing payment of the purchase price of KARIBU products or services;  

  • Monitoring access to KARIBU goods and services to ensure their quality and effectiveness, and to allow KARIBU to improve your user experience and to improve and expand KARIBU goods and services over time; 

  • Communicating with you while you are a subscriber;  

  • Communicating with you after your KARIBU account is closed, in accordance with KARIBU's terms and conditions; 

  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions and this privacy policy.  

KARIBU will take appropriate measures to protect your personal information and will not disclose it except for the purpose of delivering KARIBU goods and services to you, unless disclosure is otherwise permitted by applicable laws and regulations.

 

Deletion, destruction and retention of information  

KARIBU will delete or destroy your personal information when your account for KARIBU goods and services ends. Specified Personal Information will be deleted or destroyed within 10 days of the end of your subscription, subject to the following exceptions: 

  • KARIBU may keep your email address in order to keep you informed about KARIBU goods and services and future KARIBU service offerings that may interest you. If your email address is kept for this purpose, you will have the right to unsubscribe from future messages at any time after your KARIBU account is closed; 

  • KARIBU may keep anonymous information in order to analyze data and trends that allow KARIBU to promote and improve its services and future service offerings; 

  •  If your KARIBU subscription account is terminated because you breached the terms and conditions, KARIBU may keep your Specified Personal Information for as long as needed to investigate and, if necessary, litigate claims relating to the breach of the terms and conditions, and to prevent future access to KARIBU goods and services in breach of the terms and conditions. 

While your account remains in good standing, we encourage you to access your KARIBU account profile to keep your personal information up to date and correct any inaccuracies.

Users of KARIBU goods and services will be notified by email when changes are made to this policy, and a notice of the changes will be posted at the top of this policy. 

The parties agree that this privacy policy and all related documents be drawn up in French.
