Warnings and Warranty

WARNING

This product is not a toy, and handling the polystyrene beads held in the inner net can be hazardous.

Please read these recommendations carefully before using this product.

- The polystyrene beads in your bean bag sit inside an internal net to protect children. If you have young children, we've fitted a paper clip on the closure. Removing the paper clip makes the bean bag impossible to open, which keeps a child from opening the cover and reaching the inner bag.

- Do not swallow the polystyrene beads and avoid contact with the eyes! Polystyrene isn't dangerous, but swallowing a large quantity can pose a choking risk. If polystyrene beads are swallowed, try to clear the airway with water, and if there's no improvement, contact your doctor.

- Do not smoke while sitting on the bean bag.

- Polystyrene beads are recyclable, but they are neither soluble nor biodegradable.

Do not empty the contents of this product into a toilet or any waterway. If you want to get rid of your product, don't put it in the garbage. Bring it to the eco-centre nearest you or return it to our shop so we can recycle it.

WARRANTY

Karibu bean bags carry a one-year warranty on the seams and the zipper. The warranty applies only if the bean bag has been handled and used with care.

- Our bean bags are waterproof, so leaving them on a damp surface isn't recommended: it can cause mould stains.

- Most of our bean bags handle rain and sun, but to keep them looking good as long as possible, shelter them when you can. We also strongly recommend not leaving them outside over the winter, since it can degrade the beads.

- Keep this product away from any heat source, residential radiant floor heating, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and any other source of ignition

- We don't recommend using our bean bags in enclosed, very hot spaces. The insulating properties of polystyrene combined with our waterproof covers raise the internal temperature considerably. Make sure to air the products out, especially on hot days.

- Watch out for sharp objects like keys, screws, scissors, pet claws and the like.

- It's normal for the beads in your bean bag to flatten after a while. That's the air inside them escaping. How long the beads last depends on how you use it: the weight on the bean bag, how often it's used and so on. Try not to jump on the bean bag, fun as that is, because it crushes the beads faster.
